Larry Poole was born and raised in Mecklenburg County, more specifically the "Queen City of Charlotte, North Carolina". After graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, the beach calling became very strong. In May of 1983, Larry finally made the move from the Queen City to the so-called "Low Country". Since then, many changes have occurred along the Grand Strand. What was a sleepy little tourist town is now described as a resort destination with hundreds of thousands of tourists arriving weekly during the summer, and Larry has been a part of the growth that makes the Grand Strand what it is today.

Larry is a licensed Home Inspector. a licensed Residential Builder, and a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of South Carolina. Additionally, Larry has served as a disaster inspector working as a contractor for FEMA through Homeland Security.
